The end of Term 2 saw us recognise the hard work of some more children in Room 3. These children were recognised for demonstrating the Elm Park School Values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience.
Well done Lyncoln, Czarina and Jack.
After we had Constable Willets visit, we decided see how busy the road was outside Elm Park School.
We sat on the footpath and counted and recorded how many cars, motorbikes, trucks and bicycles went past us in ten minutes. Each time we saw a vehicle we had to put a tick on our chart.
See what happened next...
We counted 68 vehicles in 10 minutes !!!!
Room 3 wants everyone to be vey careful near the road.
We have been learning about how to keep ourselves safe on and near the road.
Last week we had Constable Willets come to visit our class and teach us the safest way to cross the road. He reminded us to watch out for sneaky driveways when we walk on the footpath!
We have been using the word 'whole' to describe a set or an object. Then we have been trying to identify half of a set or an object and recognise the symbol 1/2. Some of us are even exploring the ideas of quarters. This has been really challenging!
Below you can see some of the ways we have worked with fractions in our class.
